AXEMEN IP/QUICKSTART YOUNG GUNS HALF DAY CAMP

August 19-23, 2019
Cost: $275 (Early Bird before June 15 - $225)

The IP/Quickstart Young Guns half-day program provides a comprehensive early foundation phase in a player’s development. Our accomplished instructors provide an engaging, comprehensive and fun environment for young players to learn the fundamental skills of the game.

The Young Guns program will work on hockey skating, stopping, crossovers, backwards skating as well as stick handling, shooting, through drills, stations and small area games. Instruction and correction are the keys to providing young players with the necessary learning environment to master the fundamentals of hockey. Our instructor to player ratio is among the best in Canada and is what sets our program and players apart from the rest.

This is a half day camp which includes two hours on ice daily, off-ice physical activities, team building and hockey growth sessions.

Skating, Skill and Sniper Clinic (Novice)

The Skating, Skill and Sniper program is a comprehensive early foundation phase in a youth player’s development. Our accomplished instructors provide an engaging, comprehensive and fun environment for young players to learn the fundamental skills of the game.

Modern Defenceman Camp

Ages: 2004-2010

Time: 6:15 pm-7:15 pm

Atom, PeeWee and Bantam Only.

Today’s game requires defensemen who are smooth skating, puck moving pass specialists. Defencemen who generate offense at their blue line and by joining the attack. The Modern Defensemen Camp will focus on the necessary skating skills to excel at joining the rush, creating offensive opportunities, and the body positioning and stick skills to dominate shutting down opponents in all 3 zones of the ice. Skills that will be focused on include:

Gap control
Body positioning
Creating shot lanes
Puck retrieval skills
Stick positioning and steering
Angling skills
Decision making under pressure

Camp will include 5 one-hour sessions and will be lead by current Acadia Axemen coaching staff and Axemen defenceman that are graduates of the QMJHL, OHL, WHL and pro ranks

Axemen Novice Elite Half Day Camp

This camp is designed to provide Novice age players an exceptional developmental environment where skill, work ethic and character are the focus. Instruction and correction are the keys to providing young players with the necessary learning environment to master the fundamentals of hockey. Our instructor to player ratio is among the best in Canada and is what sets our program and players apart from the rest.

This camp will focus on the following components: Shooting & shot selection, Skating Fundamentals, Edge Control, Offensive and Defensive game play, Passing, Decision Making & Angling Skills

This is a half day camp which includes two hours on ice daily, off-ice physical activities, team building and hockey growth sessions.

Axemen Atom Elite Half Day Camp

Axemen Goalie Elite Performance Camp
August 19-23, 2019

The Axemen Elite Goalie Camp will be instructed by Axemen Goalie Coach Evan Mosher along with the three Axemen Goalies & other elite goalie instructors in the region. The Axemen goalie camp has always proven itself to be one of the best in Atlantic Canada with excellent instruction and motivation for goalies of all ages.

Evan’s passion for this position coupled with excellent goalie to instructor ratio with many hours of ice will prove to be an excellent opportunity for your son or daughter to improve dramatically at this position.

Maximum 24 goalies.

Dan Pettersson Skating & Skill Development

Dates: July 29^th, Aug 5^th, 12^th, 19^th, 26^th
Cost: $125
Time: 6:15-7:15pm

This camp will be featuring former pro & Axemen hockey alumni, Dan Pettersson. Dan will lead these along with members of the Acadia Axemen coaching staff and players. These sessions will focus on power skating, stick handling agility techniques, dekes/fakes and station work focusing on a well-rounded development experience. This camp will be sure to give you the upper hand going into try out season.
