Acadia Axemen defensive back Garvin Cius has been named the AUS football defensive player of the week.

A fourth-year community development student from Malden, Massachusetts, Cius had a 46-yard interception return for a touchdown in Acadia's 38-24 win over the StFX X-Men Saturday in Antigonish, N.S.

He also had 5.5 tackles (five solo and one assisted) in the win.

Acadia Axemen wide receiver Eugene McMinns has been named the AUS football special teams player of the week.

A second-year community development student from Nassau, Bahamas, McMinns had six punt returns for 189 yards in the Axemen victory over StFX Saturday. These included a 94-yard punt return for a touchdown.

McMinns also had three kickoff returns for 49 yards in the win, and added three receptions for 29 yards on offence for the Axemen.

Saint Mary's Huskies receiver Archelaus Jack is the Atlantic University Sport football offensive player of the week for the week ending Sept. 10, 2017.

A first-year arts student from Toronto, Jack had seven receptions for 124 yards (the longest for 68 yards) and three touchdowns in the Huskies' 40-21 victory over the Bishop's Gaiters Saturday in Lennoxville, Que.

After two games, he leads the conference in receiving, averaging 129.5 yards per game.
