Harvey graduated from Acadia University in 2003 with a B.A., and completed his B.Ed. from Cape Breton University in 2004. He led the Cougars in Canada West competition for two seasons after the university joined U SPORTS in 2012.

Prior to taking over the Mount Royal University Cougars program in 2013, Harvey was an assistant coach with the Cape Breton University Capers women’s team from 2009-12 and an assistant coach with the Cape Breton Capers men’s team from 2011-13. As an assistant at Cape Breton University, Harvey was a part of three AUS Championships, and one CIS/SIC Bronze Medal.

Harvey and his wife, Kristen, have two young sons, Jackson, and Cameron.
