Peach and Lake named Acadia athletes of the week

Bailey Peach (men’s hockey) and Jenna Lake (women’s volleyball) have been named Acadia athletes of the week for the period ending Feb. 8 following strong performances in AUS competition.

Peach, a fourth-year community development student from Falmouth, N.S., scored two goals - including the game-winner - just 16 seconds apart in Friday’s 4-1 win over UPEI. He followed with a goal and an assist in Saturday night’s 6-3 loss to the UNB REDS, finishing the weekend with four points.

Lake, a fifth-year education student from Conception Bay South, N.L., led the Axewomen with 16.5 points in Wednesday’s 3-0 sweep of Saint Mary’s, the team’s lone match of the week. Her total included 12 kills, three aces, a block and a block assist.

The Acadia athletes of the week are presented by McDonald’s.
