Potter and Ramirez named Acadia athletes of the week
Noah Potter (football) and Milena Ramirez (women’s soccer) have been named Acadia athletes of the week for the period ending Oct. 19 following standout performances in AUS competition.
Potter, a first-year business administration student from Charlottetown, P.E.I., rushed for 94 yards on 26 carries and scored a touchdown in Acadia’s win over Mount Allison. He also added three receptions for 25 yards as the Axemen clinched a spot in the AUS semifinal on Nov. 1.
Ramirez, a fifth-year nutrition student from Wolfville, N.S., made seven saves to record a clean sheet in a 2-0 win over Saint Mary’s that secured a playoff berth for the Axewomen. She followed with another strong performance against Cape Breton. Her composure and distribution have been key to Acadia’s possession and build-up play throughout the season.
The Acadia athletes of the week are presented by McDonald’s.
