Deng and Clark named Acadia athletes of the week

Jabu Deng (men’s soccer) and Sacha Clark (women’s soccer) have been named Acadia athletes of the week for the period ending Sept. 7.

Deng, a fifth-year kinesiology student from Dartmouth, N.S., scored the game-winning goal in Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Mount Allison. He is tied for sixth in AUS scoring with two goals and sits seventh in points with three.

Clark, a fifth-year independent studies student from Dartmouth, N.S., delivered two standout performances. Against Dalhousie, she anchored the backline in a 1-0 loss with physical defending, aerial dominance, and relentless compete. She followed with two goals, including the game-winner, in a 3-0 win over Mount Allison while continuing to excel defensively. Her 1v1 presence, tackling, and composure in possession were key to the team’s success. Clark is tied for third in AUS scoring with two goals.
