Quarterback Mason Jude commits to Axemen football
The Acadia Axemen have secured the commitment of quarterback Mason Jude, a highly regarded prospect out of Ottawa, Ont., as part of their 2025 recruiting class.
Jude, a 6'1, 190-pound quarterback, starred at South Carleton High School and brought leadership and consistent production to multiple club teams, including the Bel-Air Norsemen and Myers Riders. In 2024, he guided the Norsemen to a 9-1 record in the NCAFA league, throwing for 1,013 yards, 11 touchdowns, and only two interceptions, while serving as team captain.
Throughout his youth career with the Bell Warriors, Jude earned multiple MVP and Coaches’ Choice awards and captained his teams for four consecutive seasons. He was also selected as one of two quarterbacks for the Eastern Ontario Selects, competing in elite seven-on-seven tournaments across the U.S., and earned QB1 status for the Halton Fire Flag team at the 2025 AAU Youth Flag Football Championships.
Jude said committing to Acadia fulfills a long-standing dream.
“Committing to Acadia is a dream come true,” Jude said. “I believe in Coach Cummins’ philosophy and the direction in which he is headed with the Axemen program. Ever since I started playing football, competing at the next level was my ultimate goal, and I knew once I stepped on their campus and met the team that this would be my home for the next few years. I truly felt it was the ‘family’ atmosphere I was looking for. Can’t wait to get started!”
Jude will study mathematics and statistics while attending Acadia.
