Axemen add championship-winning linebacker Daniel Puchiele
Brampton native brings versatility at linebacker and long snapper for 2026
The Acadia Axemen football program has added defensive depth with the commitment of linebacker and long snapper Daniel Puchiele of Brampton, Ont., for the 2026 season.
Standing 6'1 and weighing 205 pounds, Puchiele joins Acadia following a decorated high school and club career that combined leadership, versatility, and championship success.
A graduate of St. Roch Catholic Secondary School, Puchiele helped lead the Ravens to the 2024 ROPSSAA Championship, the 905 Bowl title, the 39th Metro Bowl Championship, and an OFSAA Championship. He was also named team captain and Defensive Player of the Year.
At the club level, he competed with the Brampton Bulldogs of the OSFL from 2022 to 2026. During his time with the program, he helped the team capture the JV OSFL Dan Grossi Championship and was recognized as U-18 Rookie of the Year. He also served as team captain, reinforcing his reputation as a strong leader on and off the field.
Puchiele said committing to Acadia represents the culmination of years of hard work and support.
“Committing to Acadia means that all the hard work and dedication has paid off,” he said. “With the help from my coaches at St. Roch and the Brampton Bulldogs, along with my family, friends and teachers, I am grateful for the opportunity to play at the next level with great players and coaches.”
Puchiele will enroll in Acadia’s sociology program when he arrives on campus.
