OFSAA champion Denzel Oguejiofor joins Acadia Axemen football
Former St. Roch Ravens MVP adds size and production to Axemen defensive front
The Acadia Axemen football program has added a dominant defensive presence with the commitment of defensive end Denzel Oguejiofor for the upcoming Atlantic University Sport season.
Oguejiofor, a six-foot-four, 230-pound defensive end from Brampton, Ont., joins the Axemen after a standout high school career with the St. Roch Ravens. He plans to study kinesiology at Acadia.
During his time at St. Roch Catholic Secondary School, Oguejiofor helped lead the Ravens to multiple championships in Ontario high school football. The team captured the ROPSSAA championship, the Metro Bowl title, and the OFSAA provincial championship during his tenure.
Oguejiofor was recognized for his impact on the field with several individual honours. He earned ROPSSAA all-star recognition and was named an All-Ontario honourable mention. In 2025, he was selected as the team’s most valuable player and was also named a Metro Bowl all-star.
The Brampton native was a disruptive force on both sides of the ball during his final two seasons. In 2024, he recorded eight sacks and 25 tackles. He followed that with eight sacks and 35 tackles in just six games in 2025 while contributing on both offense and defense.
Originally born in Nigeria, Oguejiofor moved to Canada at age 10 and began playing football at 15. He first lined up as an offensive lineman before transitioning to the defensive side of the ball, where his size, speed, and physical style helped him emerge as one of the top defenders in his league.
Oguejiofor said the opportunity to continue his career at Acadia is an exciting next step.
“Committing to Acadia is a privilege and I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to compete at the next level,” he said. “I’m excited to bring my skills, talent, and dedication to the football team while fully committing to my studies at Acadia.”
