Axemen add local standout Jackson Koch to receiving corps
Halifax native recorded over 500 receiving yards in back-to-back seasons
The Axemen football program has added a local playmaker to its offence with the commitment of Halifax, N.S., native Jackson Koch for the upcoming Atlantic University Sport season.
Koch, a 6'0, 155-pound receiver, joins the Axemen after a productive high school career with Citadel High School. He plans to study business administration at Acadia.
Koch showed steady growth throughout his time in the Nova Scotia high school system. During the 2024 season, he recorded 502 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 23 receptions, establishing himself as a reliable target in the passing game.
He followed that with an even stronger senior season in 2025. Koch finished with 528 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 42 receptions, while also contributing in multiple phases of the game. He added passing and rushing yards, demonstrating his versatility as an offensive weapon.
His performance earned him recognition as an SSNS Division 1 all-star. He was also named a team coaches’ choice award winner and earned multiple offensive player of the game honours.
Koch has also gained experience at the provincial level, representing Nova Scotia at the Canada Cup in 2025. That opportunity provided exposure to high-level competition and helped further his development.
Koch said committing to Acadia reflects both his mindset and long-term goals.
“Committing to Acadia football means committing to discipline, brotherhood, and becoming the best version of myself on and off the field."
