Axemen add size on offensive line with commitment of Ian Lloyd-Zollinger
Six-foot-five Ottawa product brings championship experience to Acadia
The Acadia Axemen football program has added size to its offensive line with the commitment of Ian Lloyd-Zollinger, a 6'5, 245-pound lineman from Ottawa, Ont.
Lloyd-Zollinger will join the Axemen for the 2026 season after graduating from St. Matthew High School and plans to study business at Acadia.
He developed through the Ottawa high school football system, competing with Colonel By Secondary School from 2022 to 2024 before transferring to St. Matthew for his final seasons. During his time at Colonel By, Lloyd-Zollinger helped his team capture two Tier 2 city championships and two junior varsity city titles, establishing himself as a reliable presence on the offensive line.
At St. Matthew, Lloyd-Zollinger continued to build on his development, helping the team post a 5-1 record while competing in Ottawa high school football.
His individual achievements reflect his consistency and work ethic in the trenches. Lloyd-Zollinger recorded eight sacks allowed across his career and was named Offensive Lineman of the Week twice during the 2025–26 season.
Lloyd-Zollinger said committing to Acadia represents an opportunity to grow both on and off the field.
“What it means to commit to Acadia is to become part of something bigger than just a football program,” he said. “It’s becoming part of a family. Acadia is a place to not just grow athletically, but physically, mentally, and personally.”
