Elliott commits to Acadia Axemen football program
The Lower Sackville native brings size and multi-sport experience to Wolfville.
The Acadia Axemen football program has added size and athletic versatility with the commitment of Will Elliott, a 6-foot-5, 190-pound receiver from Lower Sackville, N.S.
Elliott will join the Axemen for the 2026 season after graduating from Sackville High School and plans to study kinesiology at Acadia.
A multi-sport athlete, Elliott has competed at the varsity level in football, hockey, and lacrosse, building a strong athletic foundation that has translated across disciplines. On the football field, he suited up for Sackville High during the 2025 season, competing in School Sport Nova Scotia play under head coach Chris Stillwell.
Elliott was part of Sackville’s appearance in the Kinsmen Bowl, where the team earned a 48–15 victory. In that game, Elliott caught two touchdown passes, highlighting his ability to make an impact in key moments. While full season statistics were not tracked by the league, his performance in that contest stood out.
Elliott’s competitive background extends beyond football. He was a key contributor with the Sackville High Kingfishers hockey program, serving as an assistant captain during the 2025–26 season. He finished the year as the team’s leading scorer and points leader in Metro High School Hockey under coach Kyle Armsworthy.
Earlier in his athletic career, Elliott played with the Kings Hockey Club at the U16 AAA level, helping the team capture a Nova Scotia provincial championship during the 2023–24 season. That experience competing at an elite level helped shape his work ethic and understanding of team play.
Elliott said committing to Acadia was a decision rooted in both academics and environment.
“Committing to Acadia is an investment in my education and an amazing opportunity to continue to grow and develop,” Elliott said. “I knew the moment I stepped on campus that I wanted to be here. I’m very honoured to join the Axemen and be part of an incredible football program.”
