The 6'7 quarterback comes to Wolfville with university and junior football experience.
The Acadia Axemen football program has added quarterback Brayden Jupe to its roster.
Jupe, a 6'7, 205-pound quarterback from Nanoose Bay, B.C., joins the Axemen with experience at both the university and junior football levels.
He comes to Acadia after time with the York Lions and the V.I. Raiders. He will study sociology.
“Committing to Acadia means taking the next steps toward my goals and embracing a very exciting new chapter in my life,” said Jupe. “It means getting a second chance and an amazing opportunity to challenge myself academically and athletically.
“As well as being part of a community that is going to push me to reach my full potential, not only as an athlete, but also as the person I want to become.”
Jupe spent two seasons with York in the Ontario University Athletics conference. As a rookie in 2023, he dressed in six games and completed 46 of 87 passes for 414 yards. In 2024, he dressed as the backup quarterback in York’s Week 5 win over the Toronto Varsity Blues.
He also played for the V.I. Raiders of the Canadian Junior Football League, where he completed 64.2 per cent of his passes for 812 yards. He averaged 203 passing yards per game, threw four touchdowns and added one rushing touchdown.
Before moving to the post-secondary level, Jupe played for the Ballenas Whalers. In 2022-23, he completed 56 of 113 passes for 703 yards, averaging 117.17 yards per game.
Jupe was also a team captain with Ballenas and was named a B.C. conference all-star.
He graduated from Ballenas Secondary in 2023.
