Bio

Peter Fraser rejoined the Acadia Axemen football program in 2025 as special teams coordinator and receivers coach, bringing over two decades of coaching experience and a deep familiarity with the Acadia football culture.

A veteran of the U SPORTS coaching ranks, Fraser served as head coach at Mount Allison University from 2018 to 2025. During his time in Sackville, he led the Mounties to four consecutive AUS playoff appearances and a berth in the 2022 Loney Bowl. His leadership helped produce five CFL draft picks and contributed to significant growth in program fundraising and alumni relations.

Fraser is no stranger to Wolfville, having previously coached at Acadia from 2009 to 2016. He held several roles during that span, including special teams coordinator, defensive line coach, recruiting coordinator, video coordinator and assistant head coach. He was instrumental in helping guide the Axemen to AUS championships in both 2011 and 2012.

His résumé also includes experience at the national level. He served as defensive coordinator for Team Nova Scotia at the Canada Cup in 2012, 2013 and 2015, and coached with Team New Brunswick in 2018. Fraser also completed coaching internships with the CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2015 and 2016.

Fraser has coached at multiple levels of Canadian football, including university, junior, and high school, and has appeared on staff at several U SPORTS East West Bowl games. He is a fully certified Level 3 Football Coach through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and holds a Bachelor of Social Science from the University of Ottawa.

Originally from Oromocto, N.B., Fraser began his post-secondary playing career at John Abbott College before playing for the Ottawa Gee-Gees.
