WOLFVILLE, N.S. — The Acadia Axemen evened their record with an 89–55 win over the Dalhousie Tigers on Saturday night at Stu Aberdeen Court.
Gabe Davignon led Acadia with 24 points, hitting 6-of-7 from three. Ryan Regault added 13 points and eight rebounds, while Briawne Wilson supplied 12 points and five assists off the bench. Acadia finished with 25 assists to just six turnovers and shot 42.9 per cent from distance (12-of-28).
The Axemen took control early with an 18–11 first quarter and stretched the margin to 40–30 at halftime. A 22–14 third quarter set the stage, and Acadia closed with a 27–11 fourth to seal it.
Dalhousie shot 28.9 per cent from the field and 15.4 per cent from three. Riley Stewart paced the visitors with 10 points. Caleb Stewart and Isaiah Graham-Roache each had six.
Acadia's second unit produced 36 points and helped push the lead to as many as 38 late in the fourth. The Axemen outscored the Tigers 38–28 in the paint and turned 12 Dalhousie turnovers into 18 points.
Acadia next hosts Memorial on Friday, Oct. 31, for a rare 3 p.m. Halloween tipoff at Stu Aberdeen Court.
