Grant scores 26 as Acadia defeats StFX

Acadia beat StFX 92–83 on Friday at Stu Aberdeen Court. The Axemen led 22–16 after the first quarter and 52–42 at halftime. They outscored StFX 16–18 in the third and 24–23 in the fourth to close out the win. The largest lead was 19.

Robbie Grant led Acadia with 26 points on 10-for-14 shooting. He was 1-for-3 from three and 5-for-5 at the line.

Ryan Regault had 21 points and 10 assists. He went 5-for-13 from the floor, 1-for-3 from three and 10-for-10 at the line. Kyle Munro added 11 points and nine rebounds. Donovan Reid scored 10 points with two blocks. Briawne Wilson finished with eight points and five rebounds.

Acadia shot 51.5 per cent from the field and 27.8 per cent from three (5-for-18). They finished 17-for-23 at the line. StFX shot 45.7 per cent and 23.8 per cent from three (5-for-21), and went 14-for-25 at the line. StFX held a 35–31 edge on the glass. Points off turnovers favoured Acadia 22–19; points in the paint were 46–44 for Acadia. Bench points favoured StFX 30–19.
