WOLFVILLE – The Axemen have added forward Marc Boudreau to their roster for the 2024-25 season.
From Toronto, the 6’2 left-handed shot comes to Acadia from the Mississauga Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
“Adding Marc to our team will check a lot of boxes for us,” said head coach Darren Burns. “He plays the game very hard, has good size and is a physical presence when he’s on the ice. We feel he is a power forward that has the smarts and the skill to play with offensive players. He also is a player who can win battles and is tough to contain down below the circles in the offensive zone. He’s competitive and his game will translate to the physicality of the AUS.”
Over 64 games this season he finished with 12 goals and 11 assists with Mississauga.
He was drafted into the OHL by the Soo Greyhounds where he played from 2019-22 before being traded to the Sudbury Wolves.
During his five seasons in the OHL, he played a total of 261 games, scoring 39 goals with 56 assists.
“Committing to Acadia means a lot to me,” said Boudreau. “One of the many reasons I chose the school is because of the hockey program and the support it receives from the community. From the campus to the rink, it's where I see myself going to school, playing hockey, and living for the next four years.”
He will be studying business administration while attending Acadia.
Acadia opens their 2023-24 AUS season on October 4 in Charlottetown against UPEI.
