Axemen add BCHL finalist Eliot Séguin-Lescarbeau to 2026-27 roster
Clippers MVP led league with seven shutouts between regular season and playoffs
The Acadia Axemen hockey program has added goaltender Eliot Séguin-Lescarbeau to its roster for the 2026-27 season.
Séguin-Lescarbeau, a six-foot-three left-catching goaltender from Saint-Jérôme, Que., joins the Axemen after completing his junior career with the Nanaimo Clippers of the British Columbia Hockey League.
“Committing to Acadia University is truly an honour for me,” said Séguin-Lescarbeau. “I’m really fortunate and excited to join a strong team and a great organization. I’m super thrilled to be part of the Axemen and I can’t wait for the season to start.”
Séguin-Lescarbeau will study business administration at Acadia.
He finished the 2025-26 season with Nanaimo with a 23-14-2 record, a 3.00 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage. He also helped lead the Clippers to the BCHL final, posting a 2.20 GAA and .926 save percentage during a strong playoff run.
Séguin-Lescarbeau was named the Clippers’ most valuable player and led the league with seven shutouts between the regular season and playoffs.
Before joining Nanaimo, Séguin-Lescarbeau played for the Des Moines Buccaneers of the United States Hockey League in 2024-25, recording a 3.72 GAA and .884 save percentage.
He spent the 2023-24 season with the Shreveport Mudbugs of the North American Hockey League, where he had a 26-7-1 record, a 1.99 GAA and .925 save percentage.
Acadia goalie coach Dan Turner said Séguin-Lescarbeau brings size, athleticism and a competitive approach to the Axemen crease.
“Eliot is a battler,” said Turner. “He plays a technically sound game, but is quick to make an athletic save when needed. He has an anything-to-stop-the-puck mentality. He’s a big man that moves like a smaller goalie.
“Off the ice, he has a very professional approach to his craft. He focuses on mobility, strength and speed for the following season. He will be very entertaining for our fans to watch this season.”
The Axemen open the 2026-27 Atlantic University Sport regular season this fall on October 7.
