The Axemen soccer program is excited to welcome Jacob Balys for the upcoming season.
He joins Acadia from Suburban FC and his hometown of Bedford.
“Jacob embodies everything we are looking for in our recruits as we continue to push the program forward, he is a great student and a hard worker both on the field and in the classroom,” said men’s soccer assistant coach Matt Holton. “On the pitch Jacob is an excellent 1-v-1 defender, strong in the tackle and prepared to put his body on the line for his team, while also possessing quality distribution from his left foot. Jacob will be a great addition to the squad, and we are thrilled to have him join the Axemen.”
On top of his time with Suburban, Balys has also been part of the Vancouver Whitecaps ‘Caps to College program, which focuses on developing players to give them the best opportunity to play college or university soccer.
“Joining Acadia means pursuing my passion for soccer and engineering, where there is teamwork on the field and dedication in the classroom.”
Acadia opens their AUS season August 30 in Sackville against Mount Allison.
