Burchell to join Axemen for 2025 season
The Acadia Axemen men’s soccer program is pleased to announce the commitment of forward Bobby Burchell of Halifax to the 2025 recruiting class.
A dynamic winger standing 5’11, Burchell brings an impressive resume to the Axemen, having played for some of Nova Scotia’s top youth clubs, including the Halifax Wanderers U21, Suburban FC, and Halifax Dunbrack. He is a two-time Youth Canada Cup winner and was named Man of the Match in both title runs. Burchell also helped lead Halifax West to a provincial title and was team captain with Halifax Dunbrack.
“Going to Acadia feels like the right place to be,” said Burchell. “I’m excited to be coached again by someone who has guided me in my soccer journey in the past, and to play alongside teammates I’ve shared the field with before. I look forward to studying while also competing, and I’m excited for what challenges and experiences Acadia has in store for me over the next four years.”
Burchell will be enrolling in Acadia’s Bachelor of Business Administration program.
Axemen head coach Matt Holton shared high praise for his newest recruit.
“Bobby is a player I have known and admired for a while,” said Holton. “He is a naturally talented forward with the technical ability to do what few other players his age can. Bobby is a player with immense potential, and I look forward to helping him maximize that over his time at Acadia.”
