Vancouver's Seb Stephens commits to Axemen soccer program
Sebastien “Seb” Stephens, a 5'9 midfielder from Vancouver, B.C., has committed to the Acadia Axemen soccer program for the upcoming season.
Stephens has built a reputation as a dedicated and versatile player, bringing extensive experience to the Axemen. He most recently played as the starting central attacking midfielder and associate captain for TSS Rovers FC II in the Fraser Valley Men’s Soccer League Division 1. Earlier in his career, he helped TSS Rovers FC Selects win the Cascadia Spring Season in 2021 as a 14-year-old in the BC Coastal Soccer League. He also co-captained the Vancouver College Senior Boys Varsity team for three seasons, leading them to fourth-place finishes in the BC High School Boys ‘AAA’ Provincial Finals in 2022 and 2023.
“Committing to Acadia means achieving my goal to play collegiate soccer at the highest athletic level while earning a business degree at a strong academic university,” Stephens said. “It is rare to find a university in Canada with small class sizes and a strong school spirit, coupled with a strong athletic history. As a collegiate athlete, you cannot really ask for more than that.”
Off the field, Stephens plans to pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration at Acadia University.
“We are thrilled to have Seb join the Axemen for this coming season. Seb is a great teammate who will help establish a culture of excellence that we are striving for at Acadia," said Axemen head coach Matt Holton. "His work rate both on and off the ball, and his tactical understanding of the game will be a huge asset for the program as we move forward.”
Stephens is eager to make an impact at Acadia.
“I am looking forward to getting to work on the pitch with Coach Holton and playing a role in pushing the team further.”
