Axemen add Valley United midfielder Boston Aldred

The Acadia Axemen soccer program has added local talent to its midfield with the commitment of Yarmouth native Boston Aldred for the 2026 Atlantic University Sport season.

Aldred, a 5'7 midfielder, will study biology at Acadia. He joins the Axemen after a strong youth and high school career in Nova Scotia, highlighted by leadership roles and consistent offensive production.

Aldred played his club soccer with Valley United, most recently competing with the organization’s Premier Men’s squad in the Nova Scotia senior men’s AAA league during the 2025 season. Prior to that, he captained Valley United’s U17AAA team.

At the high school level, Aldred was a standout with Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School. He served as team captain and was named team MVP while leading the squad in scoring during both the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

Over his high school career, Aldred earned team MVP honours three times, led the team in scoring three times and served as captain on three occasions. He also finished his career as the program’s all-time leading scorer.

Axemen head coach Matt Holton said Aldred’s work ethic and technical ability will fit well within the program.

“Boston is a technical player who will give 100 per cent and is keen to learn and improve,” said Holton. “Throughout his youth career he has shown a commitment to the sport and it is exciting to have a Valley United player join our roster.”

Aldred said the opportunity to represent Acadia has been a long-term goal.

“Playing for Acadia has been a long-time goal of mine,” he said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to play at a high level while pursuing my biology degree. I’m excited to compete both on and off the field and to be part of the Wolfville community.”
