Quispamsis native Jeremy Green joins Acadia soccer program
Team captain and community leader adds depth to Axemen defence
The Acadia Axemen soccer program has added leadership and defensive strength with the commitment of Quispamsis, N.B., native Jeremy Green for the upcoming Atlantic University Sport season.
Green, a 6'1 centre back, joins the Axemen after a strong high school and club career in New Brunswick. He plans to study history at Acadia.
Green most recently played with Fundy Soccer Association in the New Brunswick Soccer League U17 AAA division, where he served as team captain. He helped lead his team to a second-place finish at the 2026 SSUFC U18 Atlantic Showcase, earning both defender of the tournament honours and the Hilton Olivella Memorial Award.
At the high school level, Green captained Kennebecasis Valley High School, where the team posted an undefeated regular season in 2025 and finished second in the provincial championship. He also represented Team New Brunswick at the U18 level, gaining additional experience in high-level competition.
Green’s leadership extends beyond the field. He is actively involved in his community, supporting individuals with special needs through programs he has created and helped lead. He is also a member of student council and contributes to a number of volunteer initiatives.
Axemen head coach Matt Holton said Green’s character and work ethic make him an ideal addition to the program.
“Jeremy embodies everything that we value in a student-athlete at Acadia,” said Holton. “He is a hard-working, coachable, humble player whose impact goes beyond the field and into the community. Jeremy will be a great addition to the program and I look forward to seeing him grow in our environment.”
Green said the opportunity to join the Axemen is something he has worked toward for years.
“Playing for Acadia has been a dream of mine for years,” he said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to push myself in a competitive U SPORTS environment and to continue to grow as a player and person.”
“I would like to thank Coach Holton for welcoming me to the Acadia family and I can’t wait to see what the next four years brings.”
