Internationally experienced forward Adam Sneddon commits to Axemen soccer
Three-time NSSL leading scorer returns to Nova Scotia for U SPORTS career
The Acadia Axemen men's soccer program has added a proven goal scorer with international experience to its roster with the commitment of Adam Sneddon for the 2026 season.
Sneddon, a 5'9 forward from Alloa, Scotland, joins the Axemen after competing in Canada, the United States and Scotland. He will study law and society at Acadia.
A graduate of Parkview Education Centre in Bridgewater, N.S., Sneddon developed through several high-performance environments during his youth career. From 2021 to 2024, he played for Halifax City in the Nova Scotia Soccer League, helping the club capture two league titles and an N.S. Cup championship while earning a bronze medal at the Canada Soccer National Championships. He was also named to the Canada Soccer National Championships All-Star XI as a striker.
Sneddon established himself as one of the province's most dangerous attacking players, finishing as the NSSL's top goal scorer for three consecutive seasons and setting a league record for goals scored.
His development also included time with the Nova Scotia Whitecaps, where he captained the Team Atlantic MLS Prospects squad at the Vancouver Whitecaps combine. He later gained experience abroad, winning a UPSL league title and national championship with Soda City FC in the United States in 2024 before spending the 2025-26 season with East Fife FC in Scotland. During his time overseas, he also earned trial opportunities with Dundee United's U18 program in the Scottish Premiership and Mladá Boleslav's U18 side in the Czech Republic.
Axemen head coach Matt Holton said Sneddon's experience and maturity will be valuable additions to the program.
“Adam is a player I have known for many years,” said Holton. “He has spent the last two years playing in the U.S. and Scotland, so he comes to Acadia with a level of maturity that will rub off on his teammates. He will be a great addition to the men’s soccer program.”
Sneddon said the opportunity to reunite with Holton and join Acadia made the decision an easy one.
“It was an easy decision to come here to Acadia because of the connection I have with head coach Matt Holton, whom I have known for many years, and Acadia’s phenomenal reputation as a place to learn."
