After playing three competitive seasons with the Axemen, Andrew MacRae served as Assistant Coach for the Axemen and as Goalkeeping Coach for the Soccer NS provincial team programme for two years.

MacRae signed his first professional contract with Ottawa Fury in 2015. While playing for Ottawa MacRae ran the goalkeeping program for the Ottawa Fury Academy and was mentored by Bruce Grobbelaar, the first team goalkeeping coach.

After two years with Ottawa he signed with Larne FC in the Northern Ireland Championship in the winter of 2018 until the end of the season. MacRae has the Canadian Soccer Association B License, Part One.
