Sullivan commits to Axewomen rugby program
The Acadia Axewomen rugby program has added a versatile backline player with the commitment of Bryn Sullivan of Abbotsford, B.C., for the 2026 Atlantic University Sport season.
Sullivan, who stands five-foot-eight, plays fly-half and fullback and will study English at Acadia. She joins the Axewomen following a strong club and regional career in British Columbia, highlighted by leadership experience and multiple championship runs.
A graduate of Robert Bateman Secondary School, Sullivan has competed with the Abbotsford Rugby Club in the B.C. Rugby League, where she helped lead her team to consistent success over several seasons. Her teams finished second in league play in both 2023–24 and 2024–25, including a second-place finish at the B.C. provincial championship.
In 2025–26, Sullivan helped guide Abbotsford to a first-place league finish, capturing the Mainland championship and the B.C. club provincial title while serving as back captain. She also competed with Fraser Valley in provincial regional competition, where her team reached the finals.
Known for her ability to read the game and control play from the backline, Sullivan brings strong field awareness and leadership qualities to the Axewomen roster. She said her decision to commit to Acadia was driven by both the academic opportunities and the welcoming environment she experienced during her visit to campus.
“I chose Acadia because I am confident it’s a place where I’ll continue to grow, not only as a player, but as a person,” Sullivan said. “I am excited to push myself on and off the field and continue my academic journey. I got the opportunity to tour Wolfville, and I instantly fell in love with it. I can’t wait to be an Axewoman.”
Sullivan adds depth and flexibility to the Axewomen backline, with the ability to play multiple positions and contribute as a communicator on the field. Her leadership experience and championship background will be valuable assets as Acadia continues to build toward future success in AUS competition.
