Axewomen add versatile forward Hannah Nodding to rugby program
The Acadia Axewomen rugby program has added a versatile and experienced forward with the commitment of Hannah Nodding of Lunenburg, N.S.
Nodding, a 5'7 second row and flanker, will join the Axewomen as a first-year student-athlete and plans to study psychology at Acadia University.
A graduate of Park View Education Centre, Nodding was a key contributor at the high school level, competing in Division 1 rugby from 2024 to 2026. She served as team captain and gained valuable experience across the field, playing every position from one through 13. Her ability to adapt to different roles reflects both her rugby IQ and her team-first approach.
At the provincial level, Nodding represented the Nova Scotia Keltics U16 and U17 programs during the 2024 and 2025 seasons. She helped the Keltics earn a second-place finish at the provincial championships in 2024 before capturing a provincial title in 2025, further strengthening her experience against top competition in the province.
Nodding has also competed at the club level with Bright & Lion, progressing from U17 to senior competition over three seasons. She served as team captain during her time with the club, continuing to develop as a leader while gaining experience against older and more physically mature opponents.
Her background includes consistent leadership roles and experience in multiple environments, qualities that align well with the Axewomen program as it continues to build depth and competitiveness within its forward pack.
Nodding will arrive in Wolfville bringing positional flexibility, a strong work ethic, and a leadership presence shaped through high school, provincial, and club rugby.
