B.C. forward Naomi Robert commits to Acadia Axewomen rugby for 2026
The Axewomen rugby program has added a versatile and experienced forward with the commitment of Naomi Robert, who will join the program ahead of the 2026 Atlantic University Sport season following her graduation this spring.
Robert, a 5'7 flanker, No. 8 and hooker from Pemberton, B.C., will graduate from Brentwood College in Mill Bay, B.C., in spring 2026 before beginning her studies at Acadia in the fall. She plans to pursue a Bachelor of Chemistry.
Robert has competed with Brentwood College’s rugby program from 2023 through 2026, developing into a dependable forward and leader. She served as an assistant captain, contributing both on the field and within the team environment as the program competed at a high level.
At the provincial level, Robert played with the Vancouver Rugby Union (VRU) during the 2024–25 season, where she was named team captain. The role reflected her consistency, physicality and ability to lead in competitive settings.
She also gained valuable club experience with Cowichan RFC in the U18 15s division from 2024 to 2026. During her time with the club, Robert was recognized for her impact in the forward pack, earning Best Forward honours.
Known for her versatility, Robert has developed the ability to contribute across multiple forward positions. Her experience at school, club and provincial levels has helped shape a strong understanding of the game and a reliable approach to both set-piece and open play.
Robert said the opportunity to continue her rugby career while transitioning to university is an exciting next step.
“I’m so excited to begin my post-secondary career with new people and on a new team,” she said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to become a varsity athlete while taking the first steps toward my career goals.”
