WOLFVILLE, N.S. (U Sports) - Senior midfielder Madison Kelly (Dartmouth, N.S.) scored the penalty kick winner as the No. 8 seeded and host Acadia Axewomen captured the title as U Sports women's soccer consolation champions in a 1-0 win over the Saskatchewan Huskies in penalty kicks.

Included in the evening was the recognition of All-Canadians where Axewoman Kinsella Noseworthy-Smith was honoured as a second team member.

TORONTO (U Sports) – The schedule and quarter-final matchups were announced Monday for the 30th CIS women’s soccer championship, which kicks off Thursday in Wolfville, N.S. The Axewomen will open the weekend championship against the No. 1 seeded UBC Thunderbirds on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. (AT).

St. JOHN'S, NL - The Axewomen soccer team posted a tie and a loss against the Memorial Sea-Hawks in the final two games of the regular season. Acadia finished the season with a 7-1-4 record and third place in the AUS standings. They will take on Dalhousie in the first of two quarterfinal games at the AUS Championship hosted by Cape Breton next weekend.
