Axewomen season ends with 1-0 loss to Memorial in AUS quarterfinal
SYDNEY, N.S. — Acadia's season ended Thursday with a 1–0 loss to Memorial in the AUS women's soccer quarterfinal at Ness Timmons Field.
The Axewomen carried much of the play, outshooting the Seahawks 13–6 and holding a 4–3 edge in corners. Memorial found the winner in the 79th minute when Zoë Rowe finished from Jen Miligan. Acadia pressed late, but goalkeeper Leana Claude made key saves to preserve the clean sheet.
Acadia generated early chances through Jenna Turner, Taylor Kay and Madyson Harris, who each tested the back line from distance and on set pieces. Rachel Kibble delivered quality service on corners in the 14th and 29th minutes, with Riley Bonadie flashing a header wide before halftime.
The Axewomen continued to push after the break. Kibble's corner in the 58th minute led to sustained pressure, and Sacha Clark headed over in the 68th. After Memorial's goal, Acadia forced three late saves from Claude—two on Bonadie in the 84th and 88th minutes and one on Kibble at 90:00—before a final blocked attempt at the whistle. Milena Ramirez finished with one save for Acadia. A caution was shown to Harris in the 62nd minute.
Bonadie led Acadia with four shots (two on target). Kibble recorded two shots (one on goal) and took three corners. Kay and Harris each had two attempts, while Clark added two and Turner one. Claude stopped all three shots on target for Memorial.
The defeat closes Acadia's 2025 campaign.
