She will study environmental science at Acadia University. Mitchell said she was drawn to Acadia’s strong academics, close-knit community and the welcoming culture of the soccer program.
“I was able to talk to Coach D during the Canada Games, and I’ve never felt so excited and interested in a school like Acadia,” said Mitchell. “The team culture, the coaches and the sense of community really stood out to me. I can’t wait to call Wolfville home.”
Head coach Danielle Cyr said Mitchell’s competitive drive and attacking instincts make her an ideal addition to the program.
“Elly brings incredible energy and an unrivalled level of compete to everything she does,” said Cyr. “She is a pacey attacking player with excellent 1v1 skills and a great ability to score goals. We’re thrilled to have her join our Axewomen family and can’t wait to see her thrive both on the field and in the classroom here at Acadia.”
Mitchell is expected to make an immediate impact when she joins the Axewomen for the 2026 season.
