The Acadia Axewomen soccer program has added an experienced attacking threat with the commitment of forward Mhyah Allen of Dartmouth, N.S., for the 2026 Atlantic University Sport season.
Allen, who stands five-foot-five, joins Acadia after a decorated collegiate career with Mount Saint Vincent University and a strong background with Halifax County United. She will study political science at Acadia.
Allen earned ACAA Rookie of the Year honours during the 2023–24 season and was named a second team all-conference selection in each of her three collegiate seasons. She also captured the Nova Scotia Soccer League Golden Boot in the summer of 2025, highlighting her ability to consistently find the back of the net.
During her time with MSVU, Allen helped her team reach three ACAA championship finals, winning back-to-back titles in the 2024–25 and 2025–26 seasons. Her experience competing in high-pressure matches adds valuable leadership and maturity to the Axewomen lineup.
Allen said Acadia’s academic offerings and strong sense of community made it a natural choice.
“I chose Acadia because of its strong academic programs and wide range of course offerings, which align with my academic interests,” she said. “My dad is an alumnus and my grandmother lives nearby, which made it feel like a great fit.”
She said she is eager to join a competitive environment and continue developing her game.
“I am most excited to join a competitive and supportive team environment and to challenge myself by playing at the next level while continuing to develop my skills,” Allen said.
Head coach Danielle Cyr said Allen’s work rate and attention to detail will make an immediate impact.
“Mhyah is a gritty forward who causes real problems for opposition build-up while remaining a consistent attacking threat,” said Cyr. “Having worked with her at both MSVU and HCU, I’ve seen firsthand her commitment to taking her game to the next level — and I know she’ll continue to push herself and find that next level here at Acadia and in the AUS. She takes care of the details and brings excellent high-performance behaviours to everything she does. Beyond the player, Mhyah is a wonderful human and teammate, and we’re excited for the impact she’ll have on our culture and on the pitch.”
Allen will bring experience, scoring ability, and a strong competitive mindset to the Axewomen as she prepares to begin her next chapter in Wolfville.
