Jared Griffiths joined the Acadia Axewomen soccer coaching staff in 2025, bringing more than a decade of experience in youth development and high-performance coaching.

He holds a Canada Soccer B licence and is certified in competition development through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). Griffiths has been a staff coach with Soccer Nova Scotia for the past 13 years, winning multiple Atlantic championships with both girls’ and boys’ teams.

In 2022, he served as head coach of Team Nova Scotia women’s soccer at the Canada Summer Games, leading the team to a bronze medal. He continues his involvement with the 2025 Canada Games program as both team manager and assistant coach.

Prior to his Canada Games role, Griffiths was a staff coach with Suburban F.C., where he guided female youth teams to three consecutive provincial championships from 2015 to 2017. That run included a bronze medal at the 2017 under-17 Canadian youth national championships.

Griffiths is a physical education and health teacher at Sacred Heart School of Halifax, where he also serves as department chair for physical education and health. He previously held the roles of athletic director and elementary school principal.

As a player, Griffiths competed in NCAA soccer at the University of Maine at Presque Isle from 2004 to 2008, serving as team captain in his senior year. After returning to Nova Scotia, he played for several years in the NSSL senior men’s league with Suburban F.C.
