Three Axewomen named AUS award winners
The 2024-25 Atlantic University Sport (AUS) women’s volleyball awards celebrated the outstanding achievements of student-athletes across the conference, and Acadia University was well represented among the honorees.
Acadia’s All-Star Performers
Leading the way for the Axewomen was Alexia Lemay-Evans, who earned a spot on the AUS First Team All-Stars, an honour she received for the first time in 2023-24. Lemay-Evans had a stellar season, recording 238 kills (3.01 kills per set) with a .190 hitting percentage. She also contributed defensively with 214 digs (2.71 digs per set) and 56 total blocks (0.71 blocks per set), proving to be a dominant presence on both ends of the court.
Joining her on the awards list was Jenna Lake, who was named a Second Team All-Star. Lake put together an impressive campaign with 209 kills (2.55 kills per set) and a .149 hitting percentage. She also provided strong defensive play with 230 digs (2.80 digs per set), showcasing her versatility as a key contributor for Acadia.
Rising Star Recognized
The future looks bright for Acadia volleyball, as Mia Lemay-Evans secured a place on the AUS All-Rookie Team. Despite being in her first year, she made an impact with 65 kills (0.96 kills per set) and a .086 hitting percentage. Additionally, she was a defensive asset with 43 digs and 63 total blocks (0.93 blocks per set), showing great potential for growth in the coming seasons.
