Nicholls joins Axewomen volleyball for 2025-26 Season
The Acadia Axewomen volleyball program is thrilled to announce the commitment of Olivia Nicholls, a standout athlete from Sudbury, Ont. for the 2025-26 season.
Nicholls, a 6’2 outside hitter, will bring her talents from Northern Chill Volleyball Club to Acadia, where she will continue to grow as a formidable force on the court.
“It’s really special to be adding another student-athlete from Northern Chill Volleyball Club to our roster,” said head coach Michelle Wood. “Olivia will join former teammate Mia and Chill alumni Alexia next fall. The northern connection all stems from Vanessa’s early coaching days, where she worked with the club. Olivia will bring a dominant presence to both our front row and back row offence. Olivia will have no problem stepping in to attack the speed of our offence, as her physicality is one of her greatest assets.”
She has shown great versatility and leadership throughout her volleyball career. She earned MVP honours during her time with Northern Chill and was part of the 18U team that went undefeated at Division 2 provincials.
Her high school team, École Secondaire Catholique Champlain, captured first place at NOSSA in 2023, adding to her impressive list of achievements. Nicholls was also a member of Team Ontario Red in 2023, where she further honed her skills at the provincial level.
“Acadia is a very beautiful place with respected professors and a wonderful campus. During my recruiting visit, I had the opportunity to meet the coaches and the team in person, and everyone was so inviting and hospitable,” said Nicholls. “I’m looking forward to playing alongside some wonderful athletes and developing my skills at every opportunity.”
With her impressive athletic abilities and leadership experience, Nicholls is set to make a significant impact as she begins her journey with the Acadia Axewomen next season.
