Frost commits to Acadia Axewomen volleyball for 2026 season
WOLFVILLE, N.S. — The Acadia Axewomen volleyball program has added a major piece to its 2026 recruiting class with the commitment of opposite hitter Cassidy Frost from Rockwood, Ont.
The 6-foot attacker has been a consistent performer at both the club and provincial levels, combining indoor dominance with beach volleyball success. She currently competes with Durham Attack (18U) after spending two seasons with the Halton Hurricanes (16U–17U). With Halton, Frost earned 2024 provincial and national bronze medals, followed by OVA Grand Prix gold and provincial silver in 2025.
Her individual accolades include being named a 2024 Cwench All-Canadian, 2024 National All-Star, Volleyball Canada Nationals All-Star, and a two-time Award of Excellence recipient.
On the provincial stage, Frost has represented Team Ontario White and Team Ontario Black, and most recently Team Ontario Beach (2025), capturing a silver medal at Beach Volleyball Nationals. Her ability to transition seamlessly between indoor and beach volleyball has helped shape a versatile all-around game.
At John F. Ross Collegiate Vocational Institute, Frost earned Rookie of the Year, District MVP, and the Grade 10 Science Award, while maintaining a spot on the honour roll each year.
Head coach Michelle Wood praised Frost’s athleticism and drive, noting her strong presence at the net.
“Cassidy’s experience competing both indoors and on the beach has broadened her offensive and defensive skill set,” said Wood. “Her 10-foot vertical allows her to attack with power and range while establishing a dominant blocking presence at the net. Driven and passionate, Cassidy approaches every opportunity with a strong eagerness to learn and grow.”
Frost will study kinesiology at Acadia when she joins the Axewomen next fall.
