Setter Kylie Mills commits to Axewomen volleyball for 2026 season
WOLFVILLE, N.S. – The Acadia Axewomen women’s volleyball program has added setter Kylie Mills of Whitby, Ont., to its 2026 recruiting class.
The 5-foot-7 playmaker has been a fixture with Durham Attack Intensity from 12U through 18U, winning multiple medals along the way. Her club achievements include 17U provincial gold, 16U provincial silver, 15U provincial gold, 14U national gold and 14U provincial silver. She has also earned individual honours such as All-Canadian (2025), Canada Cup all-star, OVA Grand Prix all-star and Volleyball Canada nationals all-star.
Mills has represented Team Ontario at several levels, serving as captain of Team Ontario Black and leading the squad to a Canada Cup silver medal. She also competed with Team Ontario Red and White, and at the U21 All Nations tournament.
At Henry Street High School, she was a three-time volleyball MVP while excelling academically, earning a math award for a perfect score and consistent placement on the Principal’s Honour Roll.
“I was immediately impressed by Kylie’s playing style,” said Acadia head coach Michelle Wood. “She combines speed with an aggressive and creative offensive approach, while demonstrating excellent tactical awareness in competitive situations. Her commitment to developing physically, technically and tactically aligns seamlessly with the values of our program.”
Mills will pursue a degree in kinesiology and health sciences at Acadia. She said the school’s team culture, academics and community made it an easy choice, and she looks forward to making an impact in the AUS.
