Le Rudulier leads Axewomen at UNB Invitational
FREDERICTON, N.B. — The Acadia Axewomen placed fifth in the team standings at the AUS Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at Odell Park.
Anne-Sophie Le Rudulier led Acadia with a 24th-place finish in a time of 33:09. She was followed closely by Clementine MacLeod, who crossed in 34:02 to finish 33rd overall.
Grace Earle was Acadia's third runner, placing 36th in 34:44. Maggie Graves finished 39th in 36:10, while Ava Joseph rounded out the scoring five in 41st place with a time of 36:46.
Together, the Axewomen finished with 136 points and an average time of 34:58, securing fifth in the team competition.
St. Francis Xavier captured the team title with 18 points, placing five runners in the top eight. StFX's Eileen Benoit was the individual winner, covering the 8k course in 30:04.
Dalhousie finished second with 57 points, while UPEI was third with 71. UNB placed fourth with 92 points.
Acadia will look to build on this performance when they return to competition later this month at the Dalhousie Invitational on Sept. 20.
